3-Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (3T MRI) is the newest and most advanced imaging technology available. Because 3T MRI is twice as strong as older MRIs, it provides twice the speed/twice the detail which produces stunning image quality allowing for more accurate diagnoses of medical conditions at their earliest and potentially curable stages.
Salem Regional Medical Center is proud to have the only 3T MRI between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. The 3T Open MRI has a large 86-inch circumference and is able to accommodate claustrophobic patients and patients up to 550 pounds.

3T Liver Imaging with Elastography:

3T MRI Liver Elastography is the most advanced method to image the liver for abnormal liver function including hepatitis, fatty infiltration, and hemochromatosis providing quantification of fat and iron and accurate measurements of liver inflammation and fibrosis. The technology determines liver stiffness using sound waves and no gadolinium contrast is required.

Useful for abnormal liver function, hepatitis, fatty-liver, cirrhosis, medication in-duced liver abnormalities. Monitors therapy. Avoids biopsies.

3T Kidney Imaging without contrast:

3T MRI Kidneys can be used to image the kidneys at the highest resolution distinguishing functional cortex from medulla and imaging the renal arteries without contrast.

Useful for renal dysfunction and renal masses.

3T MRCP (non-invasive ERCP):

3T MRCP provides a non-invasive look of the biliary tree identifying stones and tumors.

Useful for post-surgical patients, abnormal biliary tests, jaundice, and tumors.

 

 

 
 3T MRI - Prostate
 

3T Prostate (non-invasive):

3T MRI Prostate shows the entire prostate and surrounding tissues to identify early cancers and stage extent of known cancers. Because traditional prostate biopsies can only sample the back of the gland, our 3T MRI will show the entire gland and allow for MRI-guided biopsies of any cancer. 3D color CAD assist in diagnosis.
Useful for diagnosis, staging, and post-treatment monitoring of prostate cancer. This test is also designed for patients with suspected prostate cancer and rising PSA without source. If you have been biopsied before without diagnosis, consider a 3T MRI.
